What is a good fish for a frag tank? My frag tank is nearing the end of its cycle and is just about ready for fish. It’s a 24 gallon Jbj nano cube with a bare bottom. No lr except rubble in the nem bin. Just curious to see what everyone’s putting in their frag tanks! Lfs recommends a sixline wrasse as a good, low maintenance, pest eater.

6 line is always good for consuming pests. Otherwise clowns are always a popular pick :)

Many fraggers seems to have a clown in their tank or tang for algae control

Smaller style tangs zebrasomas are good for frag tanks and wrasses. I also do like some clownfish in mine!

The 6 line is tailor made for this.

If you want something a little different, a 4 line wrasse would be less common. Or a starkii or occelate damsel.

For a small frag tank with just one fish the 6 line is a great choice and a role that it is ideally suited for. I never recommend them for community tanks due to their pescacidal maniac nature, but in a tank by themselves with nothing to do but eat pests, they do very well.

Do clowns do anything beneficial

Clowns will offer zero benefit to a frag tank other than color and motion. A 6 line would be a much better choice for that application as it is a working fish.
