Fish has issue with scales…

We just received this fish on Tuesday and noticed something odd about its scales. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your chromis has a uronema infection, it is caused by a protazoan and is a common disease in chromis and anthias. At this stage it is not curable and the fish will succumb to it in a few days time. Sorry for the news.

If there are other fish in the tank they aren't likely to become infected, but it would be best if you removed your chromis from the tank.

As mentioned, this is most likely Uronema, an incurable internal protozoan infection seen is some species of recently imported marine fish (green chromis especially). Once you see an external lesion, the infection is too deeply seated to control. Luckily, it is not really contagious (although fish in the same group may be affected).
