Fish ID?

Can anyone ID this wrasse? Looks like a greenish body and has some red on the top of the head.

I bought this as a carpenters flasher from my LFS and the fish was pretty stressed when I got it. Assumed the color would come around but 2 weeks later no changes. Also missing that long top fin. Any ideas?

Probably some type of fairy or carpenter wrasse, hard to tell from the photo. Can you get a photo of him in the tank? Is his tail fin missing?

Cirrhilabrus exquisitus transitional male/mature female - looks like she’ll turn into a stunner too. They stay that overall olive green colour but their find are where the colour is - often presenting in some gorgeous reds, yellows and black/blues.

For future reference, wrasses don’t really change colour when stressed - a red/orange species will usually have a muted orange, whilst a green species often present in more paled colours of themselves. IDs are usually more difficult in species when they’re females or newly transitioned males.

Yes tall fin is missing which makes me think fairy instead carpenter. Also plain body without any lines (at least not yet)
