Fish ideas?

I currently have these fish:
1 Snowstorm clown (Hangs near the overflow
1 Midas (Always chilling in the middle in a rock)
1 Gramma (Hangs out bottom right)
2 Antenna Gobies (I see them once every 2 weeks, so I don't even count them given how small they are but they hide in the back left)

So "3" fish looking to have more... it feels empty compared to my 30G cube where my sixline, watchman and damsel are always swimming everywhere. I had a new Yellow Watchman but my powerhead killed him when the feed mode ended. I will be disabling this feature I guess haha. I also had a Firefish but one day after work I saw 20 hermits feasting on him.. So no idea what happened to him. He died the day after adding corals, I don't know if its related but I doubt it.

these are the options i'd suggest. mainly the court jester goby (rainfordi), and a wrasse of sorts (limited options due to it being a 30G tank).

i wouldn't add all of them unless you have good filtration and water agitation.

I have a hard time keeping nitrate & Phosphate above 1, tank could use more fish.

Could a red-line or yellow wrasse work given the foot print of the tank?

40G Breeder 48x16 foot print
50G Breeder 36x18 foot print

What are the dimensions on that 45gal shallow?

I would get a blue star leopard wrasse. Beautiful, active and good for a long(er) shallow tank. A fairy like an Equisite would be an option, but they like more swimming space (leopard too, but that size is OK).

ah, i misread. thought you inquired for a 30G cube, lol.

if its a 45-50G, a yellow wrasse would do fine.

I'd go for a leopard. A Halichoeres wrasse is a good alternative (H. claudia, H. biocellatus). Depending on how yellow your Midas is, an H. chrysus or H. leucoxanthus would be nice--if your Midas is really yellow might be a bit boring.

My midas is a deep orange not really yellow.

Thanks! I will keep an eye out for a biocellatus, chrysus or leopard wrasse.

How are the Rainfordi Gobies, are they shy fish?

They are very shy and very small, so if you want a fish that is out and about, this is not a good option.

i've had two. they weren't shy. they grow to 2-3(but stay within the 2.5 inch range) inches and help with consuming algae and even cyano as reported by @AlgaeBarn. i've also seen the ones i've had consume it, too.

Never had one. The only one I ordered from Dr. Reef was shipped with a second one in the bag that died and poisoned the water. The poor survivor clearly had burnt gills and died overnight in the display.

Bangaii cardinalfish will be out in the open. They aren't very active, especially during the day since they are nocturnal but they have a unique shape. I would not get another bassinet since yours has already been in the tank a while. A firefish goby or two might be nice? Ever consider green citrin gobies? One of those might be nice. Also if you want multiples maybe consider masked gobies? Mine hid at first but now are out a lot.

I love the look of the Rainfordi Goby but I'm scared that it will hide too much. Atleast Bangaiis are visible

I have to look into Citron gobies..

I love the masked gobies but they're rare where I live and I can't impo them.

if you had more outgoing/active fish, then it makes sense for it to be shy.

Every second week when my LFS recieves new fish I make a trip to see them and guess what! They had two biocellatus wrasses!

Took one home.

I nearly died of a heart attack when acclimating him, Broskie tried to jump out of the bag... He also tried it when he was in the tank, but now he's relaxing and eating pods from the back wall.

disagree I have 3 rain fords and they are out swimming all the time.
