I gave Kanaplex dose #3 and in two days, the Banggai cardinal will go back to the DT.

Here is how it looks today. There was a bit of sun shining on the tank today and it was basking in it. Still not eating, but that was nice to see.

It looks like the skin over the eye is starting to dry out, so I am more hopeful than I was.

I just don't know what that tan crusty stuff along the lower edge of the eye is from. The "not eating" is not a good sign.....

I thought it was some kind of scab from the wound healing…

Could be, but if it was healing, I would think that the fish would resume feeding....

I assume the ammonia level is negligible? I know some people have luck getting a fish to eat by soaking it in garlic... It can be an aquarium product or just regular garlic you may have on hand in your fridge (real, not powder...).

I haven’t tested ammonia because I used seeded filter floss from the main tank and I also did a big WC 2 days ago. He’s only been in there 5 days and I removed all the food I gave him with a turkey baster.

Maybe I’ll test tomorrow, just to be sure.

About the garlic I routinely add it to the food so there might have been some in the food I fed already. Tomorrow I’ll soak some pellets or flakes in it. Thanks for the idea !
