Hi reef2reef! I recently started my tank from scratch. What would you recommend for fish that is interesting, stays out in the open, peaceful, and reef safe? This tank will be sps dominant bare bottom. It is 75 gallons.
thanks!

Lots of small fish ,most people hate damsel but they eat small pest like flatworm. The blue/yellow one dont grow too big and they dont change color when they are adulthood

I like the idea of many many small interesting fish. I’m just not a big fan of damsels. You’re talking about the yellow tail blue ones, right?

Yes they only chase them self but they will keep the red Flatworm in check. And if u have aefw u can blast them off with turkey baster and the damsel will pick them off

I'm a fan of the melanurus wrasse both for looks and for going after pests. Just be careful depending on the inverts you want to place in there with one...

Flasher and fairy wrasses. Also, a small group of fusilier damsels. Don’t let the damsel name fool you, these guys are really like peaceful anthias that don’t pick each other off.

Since our fish tank are small and have limited space when you stock your fish try to chose fish that can help.your tank with a specific task. Tang, wrasse , damsel are workers and they have great benefits.

For smaller tanks I always buy fish per what job I need done in the tank. Then once I stock them if I need something fun and nice looking, I always go for anthias. The males have amazing colors when they are in breeding condition.
