I upgraded my tank from a Waterbox 110 to a Waterbox 290. Tank has been up and running for 3 months and I’m looking for some recommendations on other fish to add. I’m not sure how many fish I can keep in this size tank but I would love to add more! It’s a mixed reef tank and my current stock list is:

Purple Tang
Yellow Tang
Blue Hippo Tang
Tomini Tang
Orange Shoulder Tang
Ornate Leopard Wrasse
Leopard Wrasse
Cleaner Wrasse
Flasher Wrasse
Jones Fairy Wrasse
2 File fish

Please let me know if anyone has any good recommendations!

I’d put some angels in there. So many to choose from to get different colours in the tank.

Emperors are nice and they don’t break the bank. The Townsend is pretty cool, but a hybrid. Queen is always a stunner.

It is a mixed reef so I don’t think those are reef safe but I would love to add those

Heniochus acuminatus or diphreutes (more reef safe) if you can get your hands on one. A pair of clowns, in a tank like that I would go for a maroon. And maybe a fox face?

If you don’t have fleshy LPS (I.e. acans, trachys, etc) or clams, You might be able to get away with angels. The swallowtail angels are generally reef safe. Most angelfish are about as reef safe as your filefish. Dwarfs are all about the same, but lemon peels tend to be the worst pickers. I have had both majestic and regal angels in a reef tank without issue, but I did not have fleshy lps. More wrasses would be fine. Marine bettas are one of my favorite fish. A starki damsel should be fine too. That is one of the only species of damselfish that I would recommend to anyone.

I only started with the yellow and purple in my 300 but the purple turned into a butthead yesterday so he got removed. Only 4 tangs now

The only reason I don’t have one in my tank. Butthead likelihood is too high. I already have one in the form of a flame Angel, but he’s not too too bad, only because of his smaller size. If he was a 6-8” fish, complete terror.
