Hi everybody I have a 20 gallon tank right now and I am thinking about getting 55gallon and I was wondering what kind of fish would fit and if something like a tang, butterfly or angelfish would fit?

Btw it would be a
39.37 x 15.75 x 19.69 inches tank and would have a sump of about 12.5 gallons

Research the very smallest of each of those (such as dwarf angels, e.g., a Pygmy Angel), and you could probably make something work. A Tomini Tang would be the smallest Tang you'll likely find.

Do you think something like a copper buterlfy fish would work

No tangs, this is extremely small for them. Dwarf angel is fine, as for butterflies a copperband might work

Copperbands stress and go off food easily, keeping one in a smaller tank will only exacerbate that.
