I'm trying to look at adding some fish that may swim in the upper water column above the reef.
I can find info about some that like the sand but haven't see much about some that like it high in the tank.
I have a 100 gal cylinder so i'm trying to add some that like it high
Any suggestions?
Current stock:

Most reef fish are there due to the protection of the aqua scape. Holes, hideouts, tunnels, and other features throughout the rockwork. So it can be tough getting a lot of action up in empty space.

Do you have live coral or are you planning to? This will change recommendations drastically for "flow-loving open-water fish"

I do have a mixed coral reef. Just small frags for now as they were just added several weeks ago. Mostly softies and LPS for now but I do plan on some SPS down the road. Something that can grow tall and take up some of that open space.

Photsynthetic Gorgonians are fast growing and look great up top in the flow. Could start with those to get something for the fish to feel more comfortable away from the rocks.

Wrasses might get active in the upper column? I'll bump this for some more of our fish experts.

Yeah. Six lines can be bullies to lots of other fish, especially when they were in the tank first. How has yours behaved so far?
