I found the same things when I took everything out of the 110! They were 2 feet long!

I had no idea I had those two that size in my tank.

Is it possible I cut the worm in half when I scooped it out the first time? I couldn't find his face on #1 but found it on #2. They were both in the same location in the tank

I normally wear should length gloves when I work inside the tank. There have been times a frag will drop onto the sand bed or in between the rocks and I need to feel for it. In those times the gloves are too thick to grab the frags so I had gone bare handed. I think when the shoulder gloves don't work, I'll grab my food prep gloves to save me from pain. Those worms are nasty.

I’m scoop out my deep sand bed. By the way it has never been touched since it went in back in 2019. I never know if I’m supposed to vacuum sections each month or not. Do you vacuum yours???? Oh the smell!

Well I came across this fella. Oh he’s as thick as my pointer finger. I know @BristleWormHater would enjoy this.

I knew it! I saw the tag and I KNEW it would be a worm!

I dismantled my 40b that had a Modular Marine 1600 model overflow. I noticed that the drilled holes on the aquarium and the pass-through bulkheads were very close in size…very little gap.

The new Modular Marine 1600 overflow for the new tank is custom. He has made them for other customers that have a SCA aquarium.

The holes on the new SCA aquarium are 2.56” and the Modular Marine overflow pass-through bulkheads are 2.333” with calipers.

Question: is the overflow pass-through too small and will it leak?

If bulks are centered in holes should be less than a 1/8th inch gap ?
Think you will be ok, but test fill first for leaks

Agree with Frank, even if not centered, you'll be fine. That said, a 1600 overflow in a 40b....I chuckled.....reminded me of Tim the Toolman Taylor...Uhh-Haaahh!

Thank you guys! I was stressing.

My original plan back in 2019 was to buy the MM 1600 and then use it in an upgrade. Unfortunately that didn't work as planned.

I purchased a hanging kit for my new ATI T5. (I wanted a nice clean look. My TEK T5 on the 40B were on conduits.) My husband went up on the ladder to see which way the ceiling beam were running. This way he could mount the wood board on the studs for me. He found that right above the tank there is an AC duct. Can't hang the lights. I really don't want a bracket on the wall to hold the ATI. Guess the only option is to buy new conduit.

Got the sump cleaned and placed under the stand. 50% of the plumbing is done. Waiting on schedule 80 parts from Grainger to come in. Placed an order with BRS for an ATO container.

Following along! :-)

I finished plumbing the bean overflow drains and 2 returns last night. I just completed the siphon line, open channel, and emergency line inside the overflow box.

I am completely scared to fill the tank. Afraid that one or more connections will leak.

The return pump has been running for 5 hours now. No leaks so far. I have the return pump set to the lowest flow and it's turning over a lot. I'm getting ready to turn off the return pump for the night. I'll turn it back on tomorrow morning.

Goodnight everyone!
