FishFace NJ build

Does it matter where it gets installed? I have two choices.:

1) the bottom of the canister would be 12 inches above the sump water

2) the canister would be completely submerged inside the sump

Go with #1. It is easier to get the canister off if it is mounted on wall

There is an extra push connect with no explanation what it’s to be used for. Can you enlighten me please?

The funny thing is that she has been posting in other threads. I am fairly sure she missed the notification for her own thread.

Yep I noticed! Racking up her “Like” points too! lol

I installed a LED light on the aquarium before I left for Florida because I have a test coral. I left for Florida on April 9 and returned on the 15th.
When I returned, I found green algae and diatom on the sand only under the LED light. I didn't think I would get green algae on the "rock" since it was in my sump for 18 months

4/17 attached the GFO/carbon mini reactor to the stand. Has not been activated yet. I figured since I was working in the sump area I would do something that I’ve been putting off.

4/18 I removed the 20 pounds of Miracle Mud that was located in the refugee section of the sump. I always wondered if that was affecting my PO4 and NO3. Cleaned the refuge section and added back 30 gallons of new water to the sump.

Removed another 30 gallons of water from the tank and added back new salt water

My PO4 and NO3 have dropped and I believe it’s from the removal of the miracle mud.

How do I handle the algae and diatoms?
Do I need to add sodium nitrate to my water?
