Tank is continuing to do well. Added a few more cuc critters, a purple tipped urchin and some orange cat eye snails. Also got 3 new fish into quarantine. A Pakistani Butterfly, a beau gregory damsel, and a baby French Angel.

A few pics from today. Threw in a dart frog pic as well since one of the Ameerega trivittata 'Huallaga Canyon' was not only out in the open today, but was shedding. These are some of my shyest poison dart frogs, so a special treat to see one, let alone catch it mid-shed.

Tried and failed to get a good pic of the moorish idol, and the big urchin decided to make himself a suit of armor from the clam shells.

Flame angel and regal angel never made it out of quarantine. Unfortunately they broke out with ich pretty badly. I treated with cupramine, which killed the ich, but both stopped feeding and passed. Tiles and clowns moved to the display and did well initially, but one tile steadily lost weight and passed. Thankfully the remaining tilefish is doing well. Also added a few new fish since then, as well as some new corals, a couple different sea stars, and a purple beaded anemone. And have a few butterflies currently in quarantine to go in here.

Love all the photos. Is it fair to say yo have an addiction to fish? Did I see a juvenile French Angel in there? If so, that will probably become the biggest fish in your tank; I grew one to the size of a dinner plate!

Yup! Frenchy had to start small because of the maculosus. Any angels larger than 2-3" become targets of the maculosus and it will not let them live in the tank. If they grow up with him, he completely ignores them, but any larger ones added are killed.

Corals are doing well, snapped a few pics with my phone and the clip on orphek lenses tonight.

Also figured I'd share a few frog pictures, since keeping poison dart frogs and tree frogs is one of my other major hobbies. All my spare cash gets split between the frogs and the saltwater tanks. I've been trying to improve my cell phone photography skills, and the frogs tend to pose better than the fish.

Haven't updated this in a bit. Clowns killed the Euphyllia, they loved them too much unfortunately. Big Mac ate the starfish. Caught him taking bites and tried moving them, unfortunately they melted from the move.

I've since added a few more fish and corals and a fair amount of CUC as well as an orange slipper lobster and a pair of skunk cleaner shrimp.

Well, the fairy wrasse disappeared. Not sure what happened to it. I'm pretty sure it jumped and became cat food or died and became hermit crab food.

I did move the next batch of fish out of quarantine, and so far they're all doing great!

Got a bunch of new stuff coming later this week! Added a few new fish to quarantine (sixbar angel, rollands damsel, and starcki damsel), and picked up a new long tentacle anemone (almost 16" across fully open), which settled in nicely! Also managed to get a picture of the mata tang and a decent picture of the goldrim tang!

A few things,

What happened to your Rock Beauty, Holacanthus tricolor? He was there and then he wasn't and also absent from your stocking list.

Good choice on the Sixbar angel, Pomacanthus sexstriatus. I haven't seen one in quite some time, they are really quite beautiful.

I dig on the Tonga branch and your rock scape, it's totally natural looking for a
reef.

Where do you get your fish from? Online or do you have a good LFS to hand pick them? You set a good example with your QT also, it's good to see that these days.

I've got a Rock Beauty, Imperator and a French which are all juveniles, together in a 100g. I won't say there isn't any squabbling, there is, but they are going to be tankmates for life so I'm letting them figure out their spot on the totem pole themselves.

Lost the rock beauty. Just stopped eating one day and never restarted.

Fish are pretty much all from about 6 different fish stores all within 100 miles of my house. Some of them are from online as well, and I have a bunch of new fish coming from online as well later this week. Really hoping they all arrive in good shape and do well!

I've had my Rock Beauty for not quite 2 years and he shows no signs of slowing down. The LFS that I get most of my fish from deals directly with the collectors and we believe this has been the reason that ours is doing well.

At first I read a year was a milestone for a captive Rock Beauty, then I read that 2 years was about it for them in captivity, so I dunno what the deal is with them. I know they're supposed to have sponge in their diet but a lot of angels "require" this and live a long healthy life on an assortment of frozen, flake and pellet foods. Time will tell what becomes of mine but as of tonight, losing him to malnutrition isn't even a remote thought I have.
