Night time anemone frolicking! This is a massive Long Tentacle Anemone (Macrodactyla doreensis) almost 17" across when fully open during the day. In it this evening are the breeding pair of Allard's Clownfish (Amphiprion allardi) and one of the Clark's Clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii) that live in this system. Thankfully my clowns all get along pretty well, and all tend to share anemones, moving between the various anemones in the 8' 240g display without overly squabbling amongst each other.

This aquarium houses the breeding Amphiprion allardi pair, a breeding pair of Amphiprion frenatus, a pair of Amphiprion clarkii (roughly half grown), and a single female Premnas biaculeatus (Lightning morph).

Also snuck in a picture of the slipper lobster since he was out and about!

Picked up some new corals at ReefoRama in Lansing. So far they all seem to be doing fine. Photos were the first night so everyone was still a bit stressed.

Added a green bubbletip and it seems to be settling in nicely! The maroon clown has already claimed it as her own.

Figured I'd throw a few of my most recent frog pictures on here as well, because why not?

Well apparently I brought in ich with the corals from the frag show... so far just a few spots on the goldrim tang, yellow longnose butterfly, and Mata tang.

So I pulled all the inverts (including nems and corals) tonight so I can treat the display while they sit in a 40B with no fish for 76 days. No more inverts are going to be added to this system once this is done. No more fish will be added either, this tank is more than fully stocked.

Display is gonna be treated with cupramine slowly ramped up. I've done this successfully before, running Cuprisorb and activated carbon to remove any remaining medication that leaches from the rocks for about 6 months after treatment is done, and been able to successfully keep the inverts and corals in the same system as the rock and sand that was treated. Thankfully Cuprisorb doesn't seem to absorb into the rockwork as well.

I also took advantage of pulling all the rocks out to do a rip-clean on the tank, re-aquascape the rockwork, and move the fish from quarantine to the display (might as well since it is getting copper anyways, and they've already gotten prazi pro twice and been in quarantine for over 2 weeks).

New fish settled in nicely and the only fish that was being aggressive (beau gregory) has now been removed and became a sump fish. Unfortunately he has gotten steadily more aggressive, and would even attack the hermit crabs.

I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow once the tank clears up!

Snapped a video today. Still clearing up from the rip clean, gonna go through probably tomorrow and do another siphon because of all the sediment I stirred up.

Looks like this tank is getting an upgrade soon! A somewhat local saltwater aquarist is moving and giving me his tank and fish! Going to move the fish this weekend into holding tanks (including the 240g and a few large livestock water tanks), then moving everything into the new tank once it's set up and running safely here.
