Flashing tilefish

I just got a pair of flashing tilefish and wanted to show them off a lil bit.. beautiful fish came in super healthy from NYaquatics... couldn’t be happier with the fish. I also received 2 purple queen anthias and just as stunning!!

Um, have you seen them flash? The reason I ask is that the tail markings are different from H. chlupatyi, the markings match H. purpureus.

Only blues and purples and some pale color not any other colors yet. Even if they are the purple variation I’m ok with that but they seem like they’re flashing tilefish.

Amazing fish. So awesome to see them flash. I hope you have peaceful tank mates for them and a good screen top for the tank since they are very jumpy.

I just looked them up and they’re forsure the purple variation just from the tail markings compared to the flashing version it’s different... well that escalated quickly

I just ordered a kit for the top since I wasn’t running one before. I have a goldflake angel and a blochy anthia and 4 helfrichi and that’s it.
