I've tried putting the flipper magnifying glass (fish viewer) on both of my tanks, but it terrifies the fish and they won't go anywhere near it, even after 1/2 a day.

Anyone else get it to work? Do I just have to leave it in a few days? I haven't, because the fish are so stressed/freaked, and after they get over it (a bit), they limit themselves to the half of the tank where it isn't.

This thing was relatively expensive.

I've left it in and sure enough, the one is now used to it and curious about it and comes over to it all the time, the other is not afraid much anymore.

Give them about 1-2 weeks and they should be fine.

Yeah left it in and they come and peer at me through it now.

Strange what bothers fish and what doesn't though. Oh well.
