Set up my MP100 and my reefmat 500 doesn't fit and and cleaning felt socks is not really what I want to do. So I'm looking for a media cup that I can run floss in or if anyone knows of mesh sock that for that would also be great. I don't mind washing mesh socks. I did some searching but didn't come up with anything.

I am not a big floss guy. I know people love it, but I hate it. I think it mostly doesn't do much and ends up making a mess.

Unless I'm confusing it with something else it seems Eshops makes a 200 micron filter sock for it:

Ya I don't love floss but i dislike cleaning felt socks even more. Mesh sock i can clean with my hose sprayer at my utility tub.

Try 2-4" 400 micron mesh socks.
They will most likely overlap but should work. I use 400's in the first hole on my ext's and the other 2 are open.
1-4" may work depending on how the flow enters the area. Its only needed to catch the big stuff.

I think this would possibly work.
Take 2 of the 4" and squeese it to 4.5×3.5, like this. Try it with 2 old 4" rings.

This is what I'm working with. The rectangle is the problem. I think I'm just going to make new holder put of hdpe to hold two 4" socks and be done.

I use these when I clean my tank, I vacuum the sand and put the sock in the sump so I dont lose water.

I love diapers and ran them in my reefer 170. I still have the holders and may go back to them if I make the holder I mentioned above.

Similar nonsense with my waterbox with two 7" socks that only WB makes.

I did find filter cups and tried floss, but hated it. So I have 6 sets of felt 100 micro socks, and they go in the washing machine with an extra rinse. Basically about 2 weeks worth.

I'm running premium aquatics house brand 7" mesh socks in my 330.7 . I think they're 200 micron. They work great and cleaning with a garden hose is easy peasy.

PS when I ran 4" felt I just had a bunch and like you washed them in the machine. At $15 each for these I don't feel like buying a bunch and storing them so they don't stink.

Maybe consider a NOSOK™.

We have a 7in model

You can wrap the core with filter floss, filter sponge or any other media or filter sheets you like and get sock-like performance that you can customize as you need it.

the best part - you'll never have to wash any filter socks

the NOSOK also comes with a 255-micron nylon screen insert that is super easy to clean. You can run the NOSOK with just eh screen if you lie - works well that way too.

We just posted a thread on it here:

OOPS - I missed the parts her you had an ESHOSP tank with the rectangular socks. In that case two 4in NOSOKS would be the way to go - we'll have an adapter plate ready to go for these tank by the end of the week.
I was going to make a holder to run two 4" socks and use reef diapers but I think I'll wait and see what your plate looks like and pricing. The mesh would probably be all I need but being able to add some floss as needed is nice. I like the easy clean of mesh.
It's something I might kick around for my 330.7 but it takes two 7" and the large mesh socks aren't as hard to clean as 4" so not sure I'd spend that much.
Will the Eshopps adapter plate go up on the website when it's available?

Just working final fitment of the adapter plate.

I don't have an exact price yet but it will likely fall in the $10 to $15 for a set of two.

We'll also provide the file for download at no cost for those that have the ability and want to print the adapter plate themselves - like we did for the Innovative Marine 10-20-gallon NOSOK mounting plate.

Here's a preview of what it will look like:

Thanks the heads up. I'm tempted to try a couple of the rollers. I had hopes of moving my reefmat 500 over and was bummed when I couldn't fit it.
I’ve been running them the last few weeks. They are ok but seem to burn through the rolls quickly. I may go to filter cups and floss honestly

I will say, this one looks a lot more robust and well made.

I'm thinking I might give the nosok a try. I could pull them and rinse them easier than mesh socks since I won't have to turn them inside out like a sock. Im also thinking I may be able to give them a swish around in bucket of water then rinse and maybe save a little of water.
Will the holders work for a standard 4" socks if I want to run a small micron for a little extra water polishing once in a while?

PS. Do you think there would be any issue tossing a small media bag with GFO or carbon in once in a while?

That's how I do it - most of the time . I rinse the screen in my water change bucket

possibly - but the hole is a bit undersized to a standard 4in filter sock - this is because the make filter cage of the NOSOK is also undersized to be compatible with Red Sea tanks.

A small bag of media would be OK - but we generally do not advise it since the inlet of the NOSOK would be a little obstructed and that can reduce its effectiveness .

What you can do is wrap the core with PO4 or NO3 absorbing media, or even carbon infused sponge.

We'll have the ESHOPPS adapter plate listed later today both for purchase but also for download in case you have a 3d printer, to print them off yourself.
