I have a Nuvo 40 aquarium. it currently just has a couple of LPS corals and flow is done through the return pump. I am considering adding a MP10 to the mix. Do you think it will be to much? Or will it be alright for an sps dominant reef. (A few lps in the mix).

For an SPS dominant reef I would say no, the rock work will likely cause dead spots within the tank. You can always oversize your vortech's and turn them down but not vise versa. If I were you I would get one or 2 M40's, more than likely you will migrate to a larger tank where you could use them there as well.;)

Definitely not too much, you'd be amazed at how much flow they like.

I would do 2 MP10s in that size tank.
