I’m frustrated trying to get a more natural pulsating flow through the entire DT. The picture below shows RED lines for my return flow and the YELLOW lines represent the MP-40 flow. I can get the right side and the BTA to pulsate back and forth but the left side pretty much stays at a constant flow.

Would you suggest an additional MP-10 or up to and MP-40 for the left side of the DT as well? It’s a 90g mixed with lots of blasto’s and acans and other softies so I’m not wanting overkill with crazy high flow, I’m just trying to get a more complete pulsating flow for the entire DT. Currently growing some acros and other SPS but they’re only getting constant flow, not much pulsating.

Any help’s greatly appreciated!

I would mount the right powerhead a few inches lower and increase the flow on it. This would minimize air vortices from the water surface.

Option 2: mount a power head on the left side rear glass pointed towards the front viewing glass. The flow would strike the front viewing glass and reverse direction towards the left rock coral structure.

Great points and I never considered lowering the MP40. I’ll try that today and see what the results are. If not I like the idea of a smaller pump facing the front, something else I had not considered. That would probably be my best option but I’ll see what lowering it does.
Thanks, I really appreciate the input from all.

Thanks! I don’t have the fastest growth but I’m keeping “most” alive at least lol! I have a feeling when I perfect the flow pattern things will improve.
