I have been looking at how to run the two MP10s I have on my Reefer 170 and the thing I keep hearing is good flow and mix it up during the day. I looked at the CoralLab report and it shows using one MP10 in Constant at 50% and the other MP10 in ReefCrest at 50% and alternating the two sides throughout the day. I also saw a program on the Apex that uses different modes through out the day at different max percentages.
Which one of these are more people using for SPS dominant tanks or is there something else that is preferred?

There are many different modes for the MPs that work. Not sure what size tank you have. I have always ran MPs no matter the size, on the pulse setting at 100% and it seems to work well. Just make sure nothing is being hit by hard flow for extended periods of time. Goal is to see every SPS polyp have some motion, throughout the tank.

Strong flow for the most part! However, a laminar flow is not beneficial to any coral. Turbid flow that backs off the glass and or connected to a wave maker to produce back and forth current is ideal.

I have two Jebao PP-8 on 100% on my 80 gallon and will be adding another wave maker. My plan will be to have PP-8 pulse and my third be the additional flow coming from the back. I've been reading a lot about more flow will encourage more growth on acros, so we shall see if this is true soon.

I have several on my tank each with a different mode and pulse setting to kind of shake things up. I stay at 80% power. I find if I go higher, the dry side gets hot.

Strong and random flow. You will need to play around with the setting until you find what works for you, your tank and aquascape.
