I haven't been able to find anything about whether or not moray eels like, or require a good bit of flow to their water.

I've got myself a smaller Greyfaced Moray currently separated from my main tank which is undergoing copper, that tank had no powerheads but an Aquaclear 110 which gave plenty of flow to the aquarium.

Now he's in a 20 gallon with an aquaclear 20, not a lot of flow. Should I put a powerhead in, or no?

I'm sure the experts will chime in here soon. But I used to work at a LFS and we had one (I remember him well because I was terrified of him!) But he didn't have a lot of flow. Just the return flow. He seemd fine with that. He hid under a rock mostly until feeding time.

I'm not sure how much they need, like or dislike flow; just a tank with them needs very good flow. A den set up is most important, as a temp situation he is likely getting enough. In the display you want really good flow as to not have dead spots for dietritus and uneaten food, they are messy creatures.

The display has some pretty good flow to it, but the this new one not so much. Since it's going to be at least 6 weeks, I'll put a small powerhead in, and see how it reacts. Eels otherwise doing great, started eating again after a few days.

Glad the eel is doing good
