I’m just curious if anyone has used the fluval marine 4.0 and if it’s better than the 3.0

That review is not so good, I think they don't have wifi.

I have the 4.0 nano light, PAR values seem to be as per factory, for my 5gal shallow nano tank I am happy, it's very close to the tank, but coverage is good and it is totally silent as it doesn't have a fan.

For deeper tanks I am not sure how well it would work - I posted a very short comparison with the Aquaknight A029 light here and that has better par values at a given depth even when they draw the same wattage, also with more blue spectrum:

I still like the light, most nano lights have fans which is a no go for me - I am gonna probably run 2 of these nano lights per tank if I want to have SPS.

YEA That does look like a MAJOR error.. 3 does but 4 looks to be only Bluetooth.
Control mode display: Aquasky 3.0 LED series can be controlled
via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The illuminated icon indicates the current
control mode.
How do I add a Fluval device to the FluvalConnect app?
Skip Mode:
Open the app and make sure Bluetooth on your phone is turned on. Tap the + icon. Choose the device type you want to add. The app will scan for available devices and display them on your screen. Select the device you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.
Login Mode:
Adding a Bluetooth Mesh device (Plant 4.0 / Reef 4.0 / Plant Pro / Plant Nano 4.0 / Reef Nano 4.0): Open the app and make sure Bluetooth on your phone is turned on. Tap the + icon. Choose the device type you want to add. A Gateway option will appear. If you have an active Gateway, select it to add your device. If not, select No to scan for nearby Fluval devices. The app will scan for available devices and display them on your screen. Select the device you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.
Adding a Bluetooth+WiFi device (Aquasky 3.0): Open the app and make sure Bluetooth on your phone is turned on. Tap the + icon. Choose Aquasky 3.0 as the device type. The app will scan for available devices and display them on your screen. Select the Aquasky 3.0 device and follow the on-screen instructions.
Switching to Wi-Fi control mode (Aquasky 3.0): Once the Aquasky 3.0 LED is added successfully, it will default to Bluetooth control mode. To switch to Wi-Fi control mode, go to the light control interface. Navigate to the settings page. Select Wi-Fi control mode under Control Mode Options. Within Wi-Fi control mode, you can control the lights remotely and set up light groups for all Aquasky 3.0 LEDs under Wi-Fi control.

I have the fluval reef 4.0 and the only I hate about it is the pro settings don't work as the lights come on when they are not supposed to.

I just downsized from a BioCube 29 to the Fluval EVO 13.5.
I upgraded the lights to the Fluval Reef 4.0.
After playing with the settings some I use the Pro settings and set my first start time setting at 0’s then gradually increasing to the desired level settings for each step of the cycle.
By starting at 0 the light will come on very low and gradually increase somewhat like a sunrise cycle. My first level above 0 is 10% after 30 minutes then to my full chosen spectrum after another hour. This seems to give me the gradual change that I want.
I am new to having lights that can be programmed so precisely as compared to the automated 3 step lighting of my old BioCube.

These are my initial light settings that I have just started with as I have downsized to my Fluval EVO 13.5.
I am beginning my learning phase in using these settings that are much more detailed than the more automated settings of my previous BioCube 29.

The app is very buggy atm. I have 3 profiles for the weather effects but the last effect you use overrides all profiles. Mon Wed Fri I wanted for cloudy, Sat for thunderstorms and Tue and Thur for night time effect. So the thunderstorms override my other profiles as its a bug. I had the very same bug in the old fluval app.

I’m new to using the app but I’ve haven’t had any big problems yet.
The slide bar circle is touchy for adjusting the percentage but I just bypass that by touching the percentage number and deleting it to type in the new adjustment percentage that I want to change it to.
So far so good but not much experience with it.

Nice little advertisement about the differences.

I think this video is a bit misleading as he mentions it is brighter which means strong white in it. I am very skeptical of this ramp as I have a 3.0 59w and think the only thing I get is algae when I run white above 40 percent. And the white is the contributing factor to increasing par on this ramp but that doesn't necessarily mean it is useful.

White and algae is debatable....

They use all of it...

You want to not include 571- 629 fine.
Algae doesn't use it much either.

Absolutely, you can debate that topic. In the same way that you can debate how much of the white light corals use.
Source of the chart above..

Afternoon I have the same problem apparently you have to set the first and last point to 0 the only issue I have is the light doesn't seem to brighter on pro than compared to the same settings on auto ?
