Fluval cp4 wavemaker in reverse

My fluval cp4 wavemaker started making a funny noise, when I put my hand in front of it , it was sucking water in. Can this be fixed or do I need a new wavemaker. I turn it off and on at feeding times twice a day. Thankyou

Check your impeller shaft for debris or obstruction as well as filter pad area

Welcome to R2R. Have you cleaned it? With a lot of wave makers if they jam up one way they reverse. Or there is a setting that makes it go back and forth
