Evo user here too. I would think about incorporating some way to have floss into chamber 1. Plug the hole in chamber 2 if you havn't done it. Stocking list?
Ahhh forgot to add, I also have a plug & surface skimmer. Where would you recommend adding the filter floss? Chamber 1 with heater & return pump or 2 in the media basket?

Stocklist:
2 Frostbite Clownfish
1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Yasha Goby
3 Astrea Snails
4 Nassarius Snails
1 Electric Blue Hermit Crab

Im actually ready to start setting up my Fluval EVO 12 and the equipment look similar to yours... I wont be using a heater or a top-off but I have everything ready.

Will keep an eye out, thanks for sharing

I use chamber 1 with a 3d printed media basket with a neotherm heater. I have a flow director that pours the water over floss and chamber 2 is largely empty except for probes. 1000's of ways to set this up which is why I love this tank.
Did you print it yourself or get it online?

I’m still wondering how you fitted all that in?
