I am currently cycling a fluval Evo 13.5, and I just scraped off the “honeycomb” trim; however, little bits of it have gotten in the water. Should I remove them somehow? Put some filter floss in and let it catch it all? Is the paint toxic?

If it was inside tank originally I wouldn't worry at all. Yeah, filter floss, try to net or siphon out for cosmetic purposes.
