Hi,
I am currently cycling my Fluval evo tank and I’ve been thinking of adding some supplemental lights to the existing light fixture. I have seen that while the stock light does grow corals, the Colors seem to wash out because the lights run too white. What I want to do is add a strip of actinics under the hood to give my future corals more blue light. Would this fixture work?

They also have a led tape strip but I’m assuming there isn’t enough power in those to grow anything:

Any thoughts?

What is the max height (tall) that you can fit into your hood?

No harm in throwing in some cheap Royal Blue LED strips if your intent is mainly for coloration of the tank. I believe that some people have put Current Orbit Marine lights in their stock hoods with a slight mod. I went hoodless myself and first used an AI Prime, and now I use a 150w Metal Halide on my Evo. At any rate, stop by the 'Show off your Fluval Evo' thread and check out what a lot of others have done with the same tank.
