Fly screen mesh for tank lid (cover)

Has anyone experienced using fly screen mesh to cover your tank?

Any issue with light penetration or oxygen exchange or any other issue in that matter?

It would have to be ss plus the little holes would block light

I second shadows comment. You will lose a good chunk of your light

You would be better off getting 1/8'' ss mesh
