Not sure why, but I have foam building up in my overflow, however, I can only presume it’s a normal thing. I have seen cases where this happens in a sump, but for it to happen in my overflow is quite weird. I can only think the cause would be that I have a missing fish in my tank. I’m not sure where the fish went as I haven’t found a dead carcass. Should I be concerned about this foam build up?

I'd suggest digging all the foam out and seeing what's building up underneath it. Unless you're doing some serious water conditioning, there shouldn't be any foam in the overflow.

Water is pooling and not flowing as it should. Check and see if missing fish is what's causing this disruption.

Nothing is under the foam, however, the fish might be in the plumbing which I highly doubt since it would end up in the sump.

Water is flowing quite a lot which is why I’m surprised. I’ll need to check the plumbing and once I do I’ll get back and tell ya the results.

If the fish are missing, how many? If dead, there could be a build up of nutrients, thus causing a bacteria increase. Thus the foam.
