I am building a 2x4 stand. Should I use foam or neoprene under my glass tank with casing?

If the tank is rimless, I would use foam. You'll probably get some varying answers. But imo, for rimless I would use foam. For rimmed I wouldn't. This is what I use

I've heard that it can put pressure on the bottom glass. I'm not really sure how much of an issue it would be though.
The main reason would be that it is not really needed. On a rimmed tank, the bottom glass isn't in contact with the stand. I first thought that foam would help with leveling, but it's really just to make sure the surface of the stand is flat and even.
