I'm new to coral photography; what tank lighting, shutter speed and f-stop are you guys shooting at? Would really like to get some good pics of my tank at night that don't get washed out by my moonlights

Lots of folks shoot raw and post process. Best way to learn is to bracket a set of shots till you get a good one. Each system is different. Also don't forget you can change ISP and get an entirely different setting.

I have been through all of my iso's at different shutter speeds and f-stops and am still drowned out by my moonlights. I run day lights, actintics and moonlights; what would you shoot in to still get the neon colors with drowning out the pictures.

What camera and lens are you using? I find a fast lens does a better job for me.. I still get blurry pics from time to time. I read some place the suggest stop all flow in your tank. I have just started trying to take photos with anything other than a cell phone and my Canon 50D is doing ok, but I make sure I take a bunch so I have one or two keepers.

I've thought about trying filters and seeing what effects I can get that way. Might try a few in RAW and see what post processing I can do...

I'm in the same boat, have a nikon D3100 and cant figure out what settings to use to get rid of the awful color distortion...

You can put a white plate in the tank and set a custom white balance
