For those who are sump-less: Canister or HOB filter.

For those who are sump-less. Do you like HOB Filter like an Aquaclear or do you go the canister route?

It’s funny, in my planted tanks a HOB can never keep up for me, but in my Axolotl tank it’s just as good as a canister at keeping the water clear.

You saltwater guys seem to HATE canisters so I’m curious the response I get....

I like canister filters. You can fit a ton of stuff in there. Filter floss, carbon, live rock rubble, ect!

And canisters are only to be hated if you don't clean them regularly
