I use 24" stainless steel dressing forceps ("tweezers"). Available on Amazon or eBay for about $20. They have both straight and curved tips available.

That's a creative use - pretty neat. With the huge size of your tank I can see the 52" coming in handy.

In addition to tongs and extended tweezers but not really intended to grab or hold things, a turkey baster is also a must have tool.

Not all alloy's are rust resistant so keep that in mind not to mention that some will contain copper as well.

One of the things I use the most on a daily basis is wooden chopsticks. Depending on how adept you are, these are great for feeding, especially spot feeding less assertive fish, gently picking up coral from dipping cups, etc etc. I keep the disposable ones from Japanese restaurants :)
