My forest fire digi decided to close up and look terrible.
what the heck can I do about this thing. IHaven't changed a single thing.
Also have three other digis and the purple digi is also starting to look bad but green and red are fine.

No dosing? No significant chem swings?

Did the leather recently shed?

Yeah as far as light it's getting good amounts of light. Right in the middle of the tank half way up. 6bulb ATI fixture.

But lighting has not changed right?
Hard to be sure is there actual tissue loss or are the polyps severely withdrawn?

Lighting hasn't changed.
So weird...could all the polyps just be so sucked in?

I have always been on the fence regarding how lethal the Terpenes from leather corals are to sps. That toad stool is sitting right next to the piece. I would run some new charcoal, and double check chemistry values. It's a beautiful piece, seems very strange that everything else surrounding the coral is doing well.

Mine does this if I change the flow speed or settings on my pumps by even 1 point or if they move slightly to a different angle which can happen easily when cleaning the glass. It usually comes back to normal within a day. Double check any wavemakers or pumps and make sure there pointing where there suppose to and that theyre on the right settings.

Hmmm. Good point on the wave makers. I was taking some pics yesterday and the flow was cranked for like 4 min. on accident.

Keep in mind corals take days to manifest problems after an event. This is not a flow or light issue. This is a chemical issue. Most likely alk related in my opinion but could've something else. The leather theory I suppose holds some weight. Some serial water changes and some carbon won't hurt and maybe helpful by the last thing you want to do is start messing with a coral in a sensitive state. May take months to comeback so keep that in mind as well.

Today the digi looks much better. Yesterday was still a little rough but I'm happy how it looks. Think it will make it. Only thing I've done is a wc on Saturday.[emoji16]
