Forum grammar...

How true. I started using forums back in the late 80's you had to buy a spelling program separate. It was not part of your computer OS. These spelling and grammar complaints have been brought up for years now.
I make mistakes sadly I am human and what some lacks in one part of their make up the are blessed in other ways.
If the English language is easy for you it may not be for others that doesn't make one person bad or another person good. Only different we all have our own crosses to bear.

I like you and others relay on spell check very heavily, and it is even frustrating when spell checkers do not have the word I am looking to use. Google is great for finding the correct spellings that I need. If have caught some trouble from some of my friends and wife to my spelling and grammar and I keep on misspelling away with pride :) you would figure in a blog one would feel safe and not to have others blast away for spelling or grammar errors.
I feel for those guys who are out there that are non English speaking that are trying to ask question and might not ask the question if we are so PC with our spelling on a blog.
We had the TI-1 when I started collage with the huge floppy disk, it made the 5" look like a nano sim. used the heck out of that thing for doing paper, but still had to have a dictionary for spell check.

I can deal with the bad grammar and when spell check wrongly corrects a word and so on. What really gets on my nerves, and I really don't see much of it here, is when people purposely write things wrong so that it sounds like slang. Nothing like going out of your way to sound wrong.

Try being Dyslexic, you'll get over it. Not everyone is wired the same. I would never post if I let the grammar and spelling police get the best of me.

Some people just do not understand how some can spell and write phonically and others struggle with language. I for one work very hard on communication but, my dyslexia and issues with memory can become obstacles. All my life I have been ridiculed for my language skills and, yet I can understand some peoples need for perfection when communicating. In the end we are all human and different and all need some level of understanding weather here in this forum or in life face to face.

I am OCD with grammar and spelling - I understand forum and "text" speak and use it myself frequently, but...

I can look past a lot, and usually don't find much difficulty and understanding the intent of someone's post.

However, the two I can't ever read past: "bristol worm" and "...can I barrow" or "Want to barrow". *Edit* Oh, and using "sale" in place of "sell".

I see the last one a lot on a local forum. "I want to sale a few things" "Stuff for sell!" "Got some stuff for sell!"

Good Lord, how can one post get so many people upset. It has quickly spiraled out of control to a contest between those who shall not grammar and spell kurrektlee. It's pretty low to call anyone's wife "horse face" when they, themselves don't even have a profile picture and are hiding behind a shroud of anonymous trolling. Ok, so some people cannot spell correctly and yes it irritates me and I don't think it's offensive when someone gets called out for their improper spelling. If no one ever got corrected this world would be even more full of idiots. So many people are so quick to become a victim when clearly this post was not intended to attack anyone or anything on this forum. If you choose not to communicate properly, be prepared for someone to call you out. Isn't that how things have been for centuries? Why should this medium be any different? Why is it when someone clearly has no grasp on what they are talking about, they get so angry when someone calls them out.

I'm offending people? I'm just making fun of the 4th grader logic that schools isn't important, and they can just make video games (I heard it all the time). I don't want to offend anyone :/

BTW Can emoticons be used as a substitute for punctuation at the end of a period? Having the emoticon after the punctuation is implying it's a new thing, separate from the previous sentence, and is weird to look at, having it before the punctuation is awkward because sometimes punctuation interferes with the emoticon and makes a different one, so you have press a space, and punctuation can NEVER after a space, I can't look at it . <-- troll so hard I troll myself

Haha! I don't even like coffee! Although, I am drinking a nice stout Coca Cola. Anywho, I will never apologize for calling someone out who deserves it. When someone comes in here and starts name calling and this and that, I get a little defensive. I may not know anyone on this forum very well but the people that I do know deserve to be treated with respect. If someone cannot start a thread to vent a little steam about a particular issue, then what good is the internet? It's easy to cast stones when you're standing behind a shield of anonymity. If I want to call someone out I will do it, and when they call someones wife a horse face and they do not deserve it, then I will not hold back. I do not want to get started on a rant about this because my fingers will be dull by the time I am done typing. So for now, I apologize if i have offended anyone in here. Anyone besides the horse face troll with the question mark for a profile picture. On a side note, Indiana horses are beautiful this time of year.

People correcting people's grammar is what drives me nuts, because if you are that good at english you knew what I meant in the first place. It usually derails a topic and makes me irate when someone interrupts me because the wrong there/their was used.
