Forum grammar...

People correcting people's grammar is what drives me nuts, because if you are that good at english you knew what I meant in the first place. It usually derails a topic and makes me irate when someone interrupts me because the wrong there/their was used.
Don't take it too seriously. People are usually just trying to help. :)

Oh I didn't actually mean me lol just was saying some people are the exact opposite. Either way i just ignore someone correcting a post, if it doesn't keep to the topic. Ill thank reddit for that lol sooooooo many errors

I am Polish and I have lived here for 19 years, and learning English is very difficult. I do my best and if that's not good, I am doing the best I can, everyone is different and no one is perfect. Try learning a different language with no help and see how you do. I work with people who have lived here their entire life and they can`t read or write. I don`t want to offend anyone but sometimes people are doing their best:confused:

One thing about R2R is we've tried to maintain a flame free, family environment. That includes not being a stickler for every little grammar issue. I don't need to have a grammar complex every time I make a post and I don't want others to feel that way either. Remember what mama always said? HA!

I believe a hyphen is needed between flame and free.

:D. I kid I kid.

Lol this thread was intended more for humor, grammar trolling, and picking on myself for being too anal. Not personal attacks and making people feel uncomfortable here. I sincerely apologize if anyone felt this way as a result of my thread.

I don't let poor grammar or spelling beat me up too much. Some posts are so awful they do bother me a bit (rarely) but I get over it because it's NOT that big of a deal. I'm not perfect God knows I have my quirks!

Such as a wife I don't know that is apparently on shooting forums or something?

Dang it and I checked and rechecked!

Given your baller status on this forum and all that you do, the grammar sheriff is only issuing you a warning.

Next time though...

Yes, back on track and in my opinion as non serious as was originally intended to be. Have fun with this and maybe even improve one's own grammar in the process. I'm also far from perfect, but try very hard to continually improve my writing skills through proper grammar.

Cheers, Todd

I find it funny everytime I see google instead of goggles. Not that I care about the grammar but the fact that google is that embedded into peoples minds.

I'm guessing sentence/paragraph structure is not one of your peeves? lol

No that plays in to "forum" speech.

I write on forums similar to how my thoughts are structured rather than what makes sense or looks correct. I suspect many do the same based on what I see.

I write papers completely differently and take more time to organize thoughts and introduce logic stems and "flow".

I don't post very much but I read quite a bit.

I feel that if someone has a problem and they don't even make an attempt at proper grammar and something that resembles a clear thought, I'm not going to take time with a response.

I used to get irritated at improper punctuation and capitalization but typing on my iPad has cured me of that. Unless it inputs the proper punctuation a period is about the extent that I'm going to strive for.

But some of us do type in run on sentences because we have run on thoughts ;)

In summation, thank God for the edit button.

I agree in general, but I agree most with this:
This seems a bit rude tbh , some people have problems spelling or just don't care cause its a forum and most typing on cell phones. There shouldn't be a time ever you should make others feel lesser or there doing something wrong when some don't have control over it, just not very kind seems more like a issue better kept to yourself
and this:

Whilst I'm sure you do not mean to be rude or are trying to make others feel less, it's a simple matter: If it doesn't affect you personally, then why let it bother you at all? I've learned a while back that what others do should not bother me. My dad taught me that I cannot control what others do or say, only how I react. I heard him say, "not my monkeys, not my circus," quite often.

I would counter that people choose to feel the way they do. If someone feels "lesser", then they have chosen the "victim" card. They could do what I do and make fun of myself for my short comings, or not take things so seriously. That's a choice.

People that are offended on the internet often "must not internet much". It's really not that deep. I have made it as clear as I can that I in no way was trying to foster an uneasy environment and belittle anyone.

I don't think I crossed any lines. But, true to my nature, I may have come right up against it!
