found magnesium chloride

Found some magnesium chloride it is made by Sel Warwick i looked it has cas# 7786-30-3 , i looked that up and it says it is 99% Magnesium chloride Anhydrous , not hexahydrate can i use it there was sticker on it saying mag flake on it as well not sure if that is were it from and just repackaged or what?

Emailed them and found it to be from Nedmag Industries mining and manufacturing from the netherlands and says Hexahydrate minimun assay of 46%??? what does this mean do i mix the same equivalent as randy's 2 part still 5 cups of chloride to 3 cups of sulphate?

Hopefully randy will answer this one as I'm on the hunt for bulk as well. If I can find it in bulk, then it's going to be BRS.

It means nothing about purity. It is not 100% because of the 6 water molecules in the hexahydrate.

You can certainly use anhydrous magnesium chloride, if it is adequately pure.

Randy, is it common to see TDS sheets on these kinds of products? Sds is common, but TDS seem rare.

Aside from MSDS sheets required by law, any other data is up the the manufacturer, and the cheaper the product the less will be the data, typically.

No, that is just the main components required by law. No data is listed for ammonia, copper, etc., but that doesn't mean none is there.

I've seen some like randy said that have in their TDS sheets that list percentages of heavy metals, copper, ammonia....etc.

This stuff is manufactured by nedmag in the Netherlands I'm gonna email them there website says there ultra pure like the dead Sea salt

Not sure what they will provide, but they state:

"BRS Bulk Magnesium Chloride is produced using only the best pharmaceutical grade material available "

which is a strong assurance about levels of things like heavy metals which are limited by that grade.
