Looking to add a fox face to my 75 gallon mixed reef.

Current stock
1 scopas tang
2 occ clowns
1 YWG
3 lemon chromis
1 lawnmower blenny
1 purple firefish
1 yellow Coris wrasse
Dealing with some algae issues and have seen these guys are great for eating algae.

Yellow tang, kole tang, couple clowns, sixline, cardinal, longnose hawkfish

No. Foxfaces are too big for this tank. Even one spots.
I kept mine in a 75 for nearly a year before I recently upsized to a 100. He was fat and happy in the 75.
I have a foxface lo and it is so so with algae. My lieutenant tang works circles around him.
Mine crushed algae until he found the nori feeder. Now, not so much. Urchins and snails do most of the work now with a very little bit of help from a couple of dwarf angels.
They also love zoas
Mine thankfully doesn't bother any coral. Not yet anyway.

For what it's worth, my One Spot Foxface (in a 150 gallon FOWLR) never held his color. A big scared-of-his-own-shadow fish that more often than not went into 'camouflage' mode-- and always looked like a bruised banana. :(

any idea on how to get the tang to eat algae, he has no interest in it and is pretty skinny now
How long have you had it? How big is it?

I'd forget algae for now and get that tang beefed up. Do you offer nori every day? You might try whole shellfish too.

about a year and a half now, Never seemed interested in algae. I have nori in about 4 days a week, half sheet every day but the lawnmower finishes it in about an hour so not sure how much the tang actually gets, he demolishes flake food though. maybe I need to try pellets?

Do you feed frozen algae blends?

no, never hear of that actually
LRS and hikari make some good frozen cubes for herbivores, same with Rods. Check them out, my tangs go nuts!

All my fish like TDO pellets. But they like whole shellfish best, by far. I buy it at the grocery and freeze it. I thaw it out one at a time, split it open and toss it in. The downside is having to clean shells out of tank every week. But it's the best food IMO. Good luck!

would you say pellets are better than flakes?
