Hey i have a few questions, 1. Where did you get the cement all? and 2. On the very first post, last picture you show the 2x4's on their sides, with what appears to be holes drilled in them... Whats the reason for this and 3. does this mix have to be cured in water? And lastly great write up. Ive tried other "mixes" in the past with poor unprofessional results, this looks promising....

How difficult is it to cut the posts off? I know you mentioned that they are "super strong" but usuall when I get a frag that has encrusted I just snap the post off and glue the disc to a rock.

You will need a tool to break them off, thats the reason I usedthis mix :) by hand you will not be able to brek them off.

Home Depot, the 2x4 are alredy split at HD, with a perfect fit, the screws on the sides hold the molds together till the frag is redy to pull off, the frags need to cure for 28 days.

I use hydraulic cement (bought at Home Depot) and preemie baby nipples to make my frag plugs. I cure in the tank on the back of my toilet for 45 days!!

Great idea, darnit I wish I woulda read this before I started my current project ;) I am using Tonga branch from my LFS rubble/base bin (4.49/LB) found some great 4-8in pieces, 1/2in -3/4in in diameter. My problem is cutting it lol. I thought my Dremel or hand saw would do the trick but after my first disc (which I love) I am ready to find a tile saw lol. Anyone local have one (Phx,AZ)? I'll split 50/50 the discs we cut ;)

I love this idea because the product came from the sea is already cured and as soon as I speed up the cutting process, BOOM, all natural option ;)

I forgot about it!!! Thanks frank! I just set my frag tank up this week...good looking out. This will save me at least $30 in plugs. $30 that can go to zoanthids!!!! Mwahahahahaha.

When I last cured plugs in the toilet tank, I put them in a stocking and suspended them into the tank. A couple knots tied in the end will hold them up. Then they're not getting all the funk from the bottom of the tank on them....

His first post says "cement mix", and I think any pond store would have it.

The auto-water-changing toilet is great :)
