Frag request etiquette?

We’ve all had the opportunity to see someone’s reef tank and want frags!

But is there a proper way to broach the subject? What’s the etiquette for requesting a frag?

I’m speaking more about an in-person request! Ha!

Be subtle I just dropped a hint that I was looking for a piece of purple monticap. A local reefer saw I was looking for a piece and invited me over his house Saturday to get a chunk and in addition to the monti I left with a pile of acropora that I had to scatter through out 4 tanks there was so much. I'm talking colony sized pieces by today's standards. I would never ask but he had a chunk of Walt Disney cut off and tossed in a cup before I knew what he was doing.

Just kidding. I've only expressed interest a couple times. I've always said something along the lines if they're interested, I'd love to get a frag. I always offer to pay as well.
