Ok I bought a mixed zoa rock the other day and a friend wants a head of one of them. The rock is drilled for plugs so I do not want to break the rock up.
How do I successfully get him a polyp off of the rock? I have never fragged any coral before

here is the rock

And I'm not familiar with zoas so try to make it simple to understand and do :)
Thanks in advance

To get in small little precise spots I always use a hobby knife. You can get them from the local hardware store.

I have a exacto knife. So do I just cut it as close to the rock? And then super glue gel it to a rock or plug

I pull out out of my tank and do this and then just put it back in? If I cut the base and they are connected to others will out harm the others.
And then just put out back into my tank?

Pull the rock out, use the aforementioned hobby knife, pick out the zoa you want to frag, cut between the zoas on the mat, or it would be easiest to find a few isolated zoas and use some wire cutters to cut free that piece of rock, if not try to cut under the zoas through the rock(dont get the palytoxin in your eyes or mouth) then simply super glue the pieces to a plug. I use super glue gel. After it sets for a few seconds put the fragged zoas in some aquarium water so the glue does not burn he zoas tissue. Put the rock back in and let the zoas heal a few days and open before moving to friends tank.
