After starting and quickly outgrowing a Evo 13.5 I decided it was time to up the game a bit. I have decided to keep my 180g a FOWLR, the Evo will become a QT tank and the Lagoon will be my fun tank. It will be primarily LPS and softies with some easy SPS as it develops.

Equipment list so far.......

IM 25 lagoon tank.
Radion XR15 G3
Reefbrite add on kit.
Stock media basket, ditching the filter sock for a InTank floss holder. Sticking with Chemipure Blue and Purigen in the media basket.
Jebao SOW-2
Stock Mighty Jet pump.
Inkbird temp controller, aqueon heaters (for now).

The stand is made from a whiskey barrel from a local reclaimed wood store. I used a 24" edge glued pine tabletop for the base and a 30" for the top both stained black. I will be cutting the barrel open and creating storage for all the necessities inside.

Sand is in, tank is wet, transferred rock from my established 180 and bacteria added. Hoping for a quick cycle!

Opinions on this type or rock.....I have a few hundred pounds to choose from between stored and in the 180. I liked it as it was more of a unique piece. I will probably add a few smaller chunks for islands as well.

Looking good! I have a similar tank set up. The inTank surface skimmer might be worth looking into. I made my own out of acrylic and noticed an improvement with surface skimming. It could be the angle of the photo but it looks like your tank is leaning a bit to the right.

Great for actual coral mounting and stuff, elevated and flat surfaces IMO a great piece! You could probably add a ton of flavor to it too like islands or branches off that. Looks like a good base :)

Thanks! And yeah you are right. Floor in the house is a bit out of level there and the wavemaker is on making it even worse. Grabbing some shims today to level that out.

Got the Reefbrite LED add on set up as well as the rocks in place.
Ghost fed a hunk of shrimp and hoping to get this rolling.

Ammonia dosed to 2ppm.....under 48hrs cycled down to 0 with bio spira and rock from my established 180. Dosed again today and hoping for 0 or close by this time tomorrow.
Added another chunk from the 180 and rearranged the rock a bit, happy for now. Hoping to get everything transferred from the Evo by the time all the frags show up on thurs from this weekends live sale.
