Start slow on the lights to avoid too much algae.

This is not the light I'll be running. Unless I do t5 setup but it's a cheap ebay one I had so threw it one for now. Trying to decide what I want led black box by sbreef with 2 t5ho or 4 t5ho only. It's gonna be coral and fish want sps mainly. I think.... could change. But for now I'm set on sps. :)

Cycle has been up and going. Does this look about right? Any feedback. I do beileve the rock I put in there to "seed" the system was a rock full of this algea. I could be wrong. I'll post pic of the rock I put in in the beginning

Nice build! I'm impressed with the stand construction. Looks like the cycle is coming along - don't sweat some early algae or cyano on the rocks - it's a stage every new tank goes through.

Yea. Nitrite and ammonia at 0 now. Two weeks in. Blew off the rocks. Have a few snails in there along with a 2 green chromis and a sailfin tang. All been doing well. No jumps in parameters. Now to let the algea do its thing. Not worried about my tank. As I have a few friends as go to and we'll of course r2r that's always there. :)

Yup those are diatoms. Next will come red and green algae. Good cleanings and a clean up crew will keep those in check, then you'll get the purple Coraline algae growing after that. It's on it's way

Well bought onew of the two sbreef that'll go over my tank. It should arrive next week.

Had an impulse buy my new tank mate a bicolor angel. Wanted the potters but read they need 250+ gallon. Well 75 is a bit to small. Then I read up on bicolor and they eat coral. So may have a short lived time in my tank.. either back to the store or a buddies tank.. no pics of it yet as he was hiding behind the rock.

I'm pretty sure that is Hydnophora. I have one similar and love it, but keep it away from other corals as it can sting them.

Just picked this up at lfs today for cheap.
What should I use it for?

1. Gfo-carbon reactor
OR
2. Add to my 6 stage rodi system?

Any other options as well.
I've heard and read carbon takes out a lot of trace elements that coral need so hard to say I wanna run a lot of carbon. Using chemipure tossed into the return chamber atm. Also have no coral in it yet.
Give me your opinions. Thanks.

So I got my first sbreef led. Once I make more money I'll get the other. Also got a digital aquatic reefkeeper head unit and power bar. Going to be getting more equipment for it as I go along.
