Friendliest Fish?

I have a 29 gal biocube. I currently have two corals, 5 small hermit crabs, and a small clownfish. I'm thinking of adding another fish. Which reef safe fish are the friendliest?

Fire fish, clown gobies, or a Royal Gramma. They are all peaceful and the right size for your system. A lot of the reef safe fish are very friendly,just not to their own kind or fish that look too similar.

This guy (Royal Gramma) is very peaceful.

The royal gramma may be friendly for you now, but they are extremely aggressive. I would never recommend them to anyone. Yours will become aggressive with time.

Most gobies would be good but your really limited on room. A fire fish is a good fish but I'm not sure on size requirements. I would think 29 would be plenty but I'm no expert either.

If you want friendly as in peaceful, maybe a firefish or maybe a clown goby.

Clown pairs I've found to be super friendly, only exception is when they lay eggs. But then again they only protect that area as their territory.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think lawnmower blennys are cool and pretty fun to watch but aren't they hard to feed? I think I've heard somewhere that they need large sand beds?

I believe you are thinking of Scooter blennies. They get confused sometimes. Scooters are difficult because they're dragonets, not blennies. Lawnmowers (I've been led to believe) are pretty easy. Good algae eaters.

I have a Lawnmower Blenny and it's easy to keep, has a great personality, doesn't bother anyone in the tank. Will eat anything, but loves, loves, loves algae.

I have a yellow Clown Goby and a Tailspot blenny in a 10 gallon reef tank. Their great buddies, and both are friendly, the blenny especially inquisitive.

I have a pair of Ocellaris clowns in another tank with a royal gramma and a Hectors Goby. They get along perfectly. Only problem comes when I put my hands in the tank for cleaning, etc. That's when the larger Clown attacks me. Lol!

Two things, first the fish the OP was thinking of for the large sand bed is likely a sand-sifting goby, such as a Diamond "Watchman". Those require a large established sandbed as they will deplete all of the microfauna they eat in a small tank in no time, likely leading to starvation. Back to a Lawnmower Blenny, these can also be difficult to feed. They do not always accept prepared foods (even nori). I had one starve in my 55 gallon tank. That, plus they can get belligerent when mature and you are better off avoiding them in a smaller tank. Instead, go with a nice and small Blenny, such as the Tailspot as already mentioned :)

Your first fish being a clown wich is a member of the damsel family should be abel to hold its own with a royal gramma . My vote is for a gobbie/pistol shrimp pair they are fairly peaceful as long as nothing gets near there tunnel and stay at the bottom of the tank.
