Frogspawn arrived with a lot of expelled mucous like substance in the bag and an absolutely horrendous smell. I acclimated, dipped, and placed in my tank anyway. It is still expelling long stringy mucus like substance (only been in for about 10 minutes). Is it dead or just stressed?

Based on the fact that it's already rotting, it's probably dead :(
Came from a very reputable retailer via overnight shipping. The other coral I ordered looks fantastic. Very surprised by this.

Do you have iodine to hand? Give it a dip in a tub of tank water with that in and it may perk up,
I don’t have iodine. I did a dip with ReVive and put it in my tank. Would you keep it in the tank to see if it comes back? I’m just worried about it releasing ammonia if it’s already dead.

Iodine acts like an antiseptic is all...

Revive will ah ave done it ok...as the polyps are still visible (I think?) I would leave it be, don’t put it anywhere near to other euphillias tho...wouldn’t worry about ammonia ....time will tell ...good luck

I suppose it may bounce back, but I would try to get a refund or a replacement based on the fact that it smelled straight out of the bag.
