I cant tell if this is new growth or a pest. There is something definitely growing on the base of this.

I have almost no nitrate and almost no phosphates. Calcium is at 410. Alk is 7.6. Phis 8.

Any help would be appreciated

tough to tell. Is it stationary? could be a type of sponge

Im 90% sure it has been there the whole time. Maybe not as much. What does new skeletal growth look like on coral? Does it start like flesh and develope a skeleton under as it expands? I did have a drop in my alk that was quite big. 7.8-7.2 in 2 days. Im back at 7.8

It is fluffed out today but still not at its best. My goal is to watch that growth everyday and keep my tests going but honestly if it isnt a pest or the alk swing, then idk what im doing wrong. I will find out though

I’m guessing it’s a sponge. I see they each have a darker spot; if that’s a hole then that is consistent with a sponge (look up pineapple sponge) New growth of a branching euphyllia starts off with those small heads and get bigger and stretches from there.

If they are sponges, they are mostly harmless but some can get out of control and smother. It looks like you could pop it off easy enough; if want them gone, you can pull it out and put a small amount of rodi directly on the sponge (not the whole coral). The water and air exposure and a light brushing should get rid of it. You could also try siphoning it out with a water change but run a higher risk of it spreading.
