My wife went through Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island where she shattered one her hips. After over a year of rehab she went back to Parris Island to do it again. She can out shoot some of our friends who are retired spec ops guys. She says no tank, I say "Yes Ma'am!"! :eek::p

You guys cracked me up. Hubby fussed at me to set my tank up only problem I gotta have a flame angel lol ok ok. He gets mad if I see a good deal on something and don't tell him. His hobby is expensive as well, collecting guitars. So he says well you can spend this much this time as I cannotation really work (physical and mental problems. Tank helps keep me sane lol :p:cool:

i don't think its about controlling. I feel its more of she is probably right... I know and we all know fish tanks will crash due to something at some point. she does not want me spending all this money and then it crashes. i told her a car can crash!!! does not mean you don't get one. a relationship is about compromises so I will wait till she wants something and just say no.lol

Feel for you bro but I'm lucky wife is used to my ways and long as bills are paid n she's able to do her things also it's all good. I am honest with her about it and when I spend unexpectedly she knows that it's a reason for it. I don't tell her to not go out with the girls or get nails ect if she wants. We enjoy the hobby overall together.

Ok so been showing my wife tanks and been talking to her and I think I finally got to her! I showed her a 70 gal artisan and she liked it. Being that it's a 1400 tank I am gonna look for other options in same size and style.

Something will happen- unless you are blessed by the Fish Gods, something can always happen - but still , that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to enjoy your dream/want/desire... so she doesn't want one, you do - where is the compromise of her just saying no?
Start off with a small tank- nothing outrageous , a biocube ? self contained, easy to maintain, low cost as not able to put large specimens in there...- and learn/grow from there- she will either come to enjoy it as much if not more than you do [because she will be viewing it, not doing water changes, skimmer cleaning, etc, lol] OR.. she won't budge- either way.. you guys need to set compromise in your relationship- it's not fair if someone is calling all the shots- that's not a relationship..plus my goodness tell her to think how EASY Birthday and Christmas shopping for you will be, lol- just toss a gift card to a local fish store in a card and OILA! gift shopping done! Easy Peasy! lol :)

Lol yes I was telling a mutual friend of ours now I can't go too big cause with my luck something will happen. I am going to take it slow and custome build everything . I am looking at doing a ghost overflow box as I want the most space as possible inside the tank

Can't wait to follow your progress, :) , you will do great, stay positive. Things can,and do, sometimes go wrong. Don't pre-stress about it. Do your research, and handle what is in your control to handle. The hobby comes with risk, sure.... but it also comes with incredible, awesome, fantastic-ness, that will make you love it more and more :) Good Luck to you!

Think I am getting a reefer 250 by Black Friday. Now the problem is I have to spent $3200 to get up and running. Kinda hard a one time shot
