Fuge light blocker

Idk if anyone else had this problem but my fuge has a lot of spill over and my skimmer is accumulating a lot if algae on one side.

So i got a piece of of plack pexiglass and super glued magnets in it to hold it into place. The filter sock holder helps to.

Idk if its a good idea or not but we will see. Anyone else do something like this?

Same. The portion above the baffel where my fuge light hits it does the same. I've been thinking about wrapping it with some kind of black vinyl...haven't gotten around to it yet tho :grimacing-face:
