The Seneye is more of a monitor of a few parameters and an alert in an emergency (can send alerts when it's out of water, eg. tank has burst or sump has a blockage etc). Apex equipment will give you all sorts of control far beyond the baseline monitoring the Seneye does. The PAR meter aspect was actually one of the most attractive features to me initially but seeing my pH behaviour and knowing my NH3 = <0.005 is comforting.
I would say it is helpful but certainly not necessary. Neither is a controller for that matter but it's all quality of life, peace of mind and personal preference when considering the cost and value.
The hope is to purchase a controller system in the future but like you said, "kinda expensive".
thanks for the advice Fugs!!

Latest FTS (lazy phone pic). More SPS frags, existing ones are settling in nicely. Also added a Serranocirrhitus latus (Sunburst/Fathead Anthias).

I had a chance to take a few quick shots during a water change today.

Thanks Freddie!
Slowly but surely coming along. Couple frags have already grown over glue and hit rock work.
Still have a few pieces that I'm reluctantly (because I just want them to settle) moving around for aesthetics and light/flow advantages but everything is growing which is the important part I guess.
Also have to work on my FTS, it's the one photo I keep forgetting to do when the flow is off.

All things considered, I'm quite happy with where things are at just before I kick over the 3 month mark.

Have you been using the AF Comp (1-3) or am I wrong?

Yep, Aquaforest Component 1+2+3+ stable at 24ml/day.
Alk sits @ 7-7.3 dKH (fluctuations on WC day but not big)
Ca sits @ 430-440ppm
Mg sits @ 1330-1360ppm

Current = 7.3, 440, 1360
I will add that those measurements were taken this morning when I was missing a fair bit of fresh RODI top up because I forgot to plug my ATO back in after water change yesterday. So there's a chance they might be a bit lower.

That's Great!!!!
I've always told others that the Comp (1-3) is the best AF product that I've ever used and if done properly, it will balance out to three even doses.

Your running it and your corals have wonderful colors, growth and health. :)

haha I am in the early excitement stages. These results are mainly due to posts from guys like yourself, @Anirban and @120reefkeeper being adamant about balancing the product correctly.
Wait until I've had this going stable for a month, then I'll have some decent evidence ;)
I already have a few comparison shots that blow me away.

The frags are looking great and that anthias is very dramatic. What have you been feeding him?

I love Aussie SPS... but too expensive even for 1" frag here in Malaysia. Kind of jealous seeing your tank... Sob... Sob...
