I was shopping for corals online and one vendor was selling a fungia that had been cut in half. This sort of bothered me. I don't know if that guy can grow back to the beautifull disc that he once was. Am i wrong?

O yeah they grow back just fine, if you cut them into squares they form the circle in less time with a mouth, if you cut them in half some say it takes about 6 months to a year to grow back into a disc. I cut a hunk off of mine last night, he seems okay, my first attempt at fragging. He seems healthy and good.

They'll grow back but some things in the hobby are just expected to be sold as is. Scolys for example. I'd never pay for a pizza slice of a scoly or a plate. The practice seems to more and more prevalent as of late. Pretty lame imo and ill stick with vendors who sell them as they are.
