It’s been developing on the BT trigger for round about 2 weeks and doesn’t spread to anyone else but completely drops off every morning for the past couple of days and comes back a few hours later. It’s begun to spread to my wrasse and tomini tang but all are still feeding aggressively. It’s showing up on the tank walls as well which is very unusual, having a cocoon like texture. Refer to pics for a clearer idea. Thanks!

Definitely looks like velvet to me.

Is there any swimming into powerheads, twitching, flashing, scratching etc?

I don't know what is on the glass but it's likely unrelated to the disease issue.

Lighting can also impact how obvious spots are or are not. The blue lights more prevalent for cycles or controllable lights in the AM and evening often show more spots than harsh whites.

That makes sense now, thank you for adding this

I thought the time between symptoms of velvet showing and death was much shorter than 2 weeks?

Although it's not the "norm" a healthy established fish (varying by genus/species) could live with a velvet affliction for months.

Some fish are more succeptable than others based on thickness of slime coat etc.

Emergency Update:
The illness managed to spread to all of the other tank mates in a matter of 2-3 days and is about to claim the life of the new cyanopleura wrasse. The trigger has gone through BeFuran treatment and is doing quite good.

The issue now is that it’s proliferated the entire tank but my new 4’ tank is only arriving after a few more days and I’m not entirely sure what to do now. What’s the best choice I can make at this time? Should I tear down the tank and move everyone to a smaller tank that i have for treatment? Or just take them out for a dip then return to the current tank? @4FordFamily

As for whether or not it’s velvet, I don’t seem to notice any sign of brownish-gold tint on the spots over several types of light. It’s bleach white

The other tank mates: pintail and melanurus wrasse, tomini tang and a foxface have few of the spots except the pintail who’s holding up well but i’m sure it’ll be a matter of time before everyone would be hit

Velvet often appears white once it has actually formed spots. The goldish sheen is actually seen less often.

I am not trying to alarm you as I had said in original post it just looked too much like velvet.

If it has spread to all of the fish in a couple days as well as beginning to take lives it's probably velvet.

Moving these fish to a QT and starting treatment ASAP is going to be the best chance of survival.

FW dips and acriflavine baths between current tank and QT will provide some temporary relief as well.

I can confirm this is velvet now...3 dead in a day despite treatment. I notice the remaining survivors have melting fins now??

Ugh. Sorry to hear this... :(

Can you upload pics of the fins?

Velvet commonly causes secondary bacterial infections that are capable of being as virulent as the parasite itself. Even after you remove the parasites from the equation with copper or CP etc.

is there any hope left?
Yes there is!

FW dips to remove most of the attached parasites. Rally bath to prevent further infection and copper or CP to erradicate parasites.

If you don't have any antibiotics on hand I would round some up.

Kanaplex
Furan-2
Metroplex

NFG is even better post copper.
