Hey everyone,
you could say I am pretty new in this hobby, I setup my current 180 in Dec '17. since then I have added a 50G frag table into the system making it about 280G total. I loved the hobby from the get go naturally being that diving is one of my passions. Fast forward to now, a short 17 months later I am upgrading to a massive 470. I will upload the photos as I go! the current stage of the build is; live rock is curing, I am moving all the electrical and switches in the wall being that this tank will in the wall and viewable from 2 sides. I have a hole dug out in my back yard because this beast has to come through my basement window because it wont fit down the stairs (got a hard 90 and a 1000lb wont be easy to make that turn). the stand it build and in place. I also had to cut the overflow off the back of the tank so it will fit through the window and also have the baffles in the sump cut out to make room for the reef octopus regal 300int. I honestly hope to have water in this bad boy in the next 6 weeks.

This is the space where the tank will be going. It will be viewable from the hallway as well. Think of it like @servos build but on a lot tighter budget! Mine wont be near as fancy, as much as i would love for it to be! I have a 120g QT system that can be seen that currently has 2 yellows and a purple tang in it. I also couldnt resist but to pick up another SSC frag today!

Pic 1 X men colony

Pirc 2 Not a whole lot has changed but there has been some progress. I got all the light switches moved last night, i just have a few finishing touches before i can start drywall. The plan was to have the tank in by the end of may, not sure if that is ambitious. I guess we will see!

So this weekend wasnt near as productive as i was hoping for. Ive been chipping away at the fish room. Electrical is dang near compete, the exhaust fan is operational now. I wasnt overly impresses with my sump configuration so i removed all the baffles, now i just need to figure out wha is going to work best. I also got the sump inside the stand which is great but a bit depressing seeing how much room i was left to work. The sump is a 135G 6ft tank. I can at least get the skimmer in and out which is a miracle. I also purchased an apex and some more mp40s this last week so i was trying to get the apex all setup and working so i knew how to use it on the new tank. That is all for updates. I really hope to have the drywall done this week and possibly some mud/tape.

So as of lately, there hasnt been a whole lot of progress. Im a diesel mechanic by trade and the last couple weeks have been busy as heck for me. I did get most of the room dry walled! Even worse though is that i took nasty spill on my my mountain bike this week trying to feel young again. So needless to say, my arm wont be touching salt water for while being skin less!
